Pre- Requisites
​
Depending on which specific field you choose you will have two advisors (one within the College of Education and in for your discipline's department) also you will take: the required University Studies Program (USP) courses, and:

- English Education: one Shakespeare of Renaissance Literature course, two 4000-level-Pre-20th century courses (6 hours), one emerging fields and approaches course, Senior Seminar in English: requires advanced standing, Young Adult Literature: offered only in Spring and Summer semesters, Linguistics, miscellaneous English electives (6 hours minimum; 2000 level or above), foreign language requirement of 12 hours
-Math Education: Algebra sequence, Applied sequence, Analysis sequence, Math through 4600, two math depth classes, EDST through 4500, 42 hours minimum required
-Science Education: Life through 3600, MOLB 3610 and 4100, Geology 4777, Biochemistry, Chemistry through 4507

-Physical Education: Teaching Lab I and II; Assessment in Physical Education; Teaching Reading in the Content Area; Teaching Methods in Physical Education; Physiology of Exercise; Lifespan Motor Development; Sport Psychology or Exercise Psychology; Biomechanics of Human Movement; Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries; Understanding Skill Acquisition for Teaching; Curriculum Development in Physical Education; School Administration for the Health Sciences; Student Teaching.
